Water cast sterling silver jewelry

Casting sterling silver into different media—like water and beans—can result in interesting, organic shapes. These pieces were all made by our students, Meagan Cignoli and Isabella Mancebo, and modeled here by the beautiful Isabella. Left to right: a large water-cast pendant, water cast stud earring and ring, one water cast and one bean cast stud earring, and a bean cast pendant. We spent a delightful afternoon casting into different substances to see what would come out. What’s next? Ice, maybe. Or frozen peas. Check out a video of the process here and you can see Meagan’s work in glass and plaster, as well as a master class in gorgeous photography, here
