Rings from our recent one-day workshops

One of our most popular workshops is the one-day Beginning Metalsmithing and Soldering workshop. Designed for people with no experience, students learn the basics of working with metal, from cutting and sanding, to soldering and finishing. At the end of the day, they walk out with the jewelry they have made! Most people make 2-3 rings, but as you can see, the results vary a lot: some people work faster, others slower. Some designs are more complex and need more time. Whatever the case, each person can leave feeling pride at what they’ve accomplished, and then they can show off their handiwork to their friends and family!

I love leading these workshops. Seeing people gain so much knowledge and experience in just one day is so gratifying. Plus, the people who come to my classes are always amazing—curious, creative, friendly. And I’m always surprised by the ways in which they inspire each other. One person has an idea, which gives another person an idea, and before you know it, a theme develops. Most importantly, we have a blast together!
